At the recent annual meeting of the American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS), the Loders Croklaan presentation outlining the groundbreaking work on palm oil crystallization won the award for “Outstanding Paper Presentation.”
Kevin Smith, Fred Cain and Geoff Talbot wrote the paper, “Metstable Zone Width and Crystal Morphology of 1.3-dipalmitoyl-2-oleoyl glycerol and tripalmitoyl glycerol Crystallized from Acetone.” The award recognized its excellent form, content and presentation.
AOCS is the world’s leading society for the science and technology of oils and fats. It was founded in 1909 and now has over 5,400 members worldwide. Its annual meeting is one of the premier events in the oils and fats industry and attracts about 1,700 delegates from around the world.
Presenting at the conference is in itself an honor; winning the award from the hundreds of presentations is indeed a tribute to the authors’ hard work.
