Lipid Nutrition ingredient recognized by slimming and dairy sectors
Wormerveer, 5 April 2007 – PinnoThin™, Lipid Nutrition’s all-natural appetite suppressant, has again been recognized by industry and science experts for its unique properties and application possibilities. At Slimming Ingredients Germany 2007, held 29-30 March in Berlin, PinnoThin™ won the Most Innovative Ingredient Award, beating nine other contenders. Earlier the same month, the ingredient was Highly Commended in the Best New Health Initiative category of the Dairy Innovation Awards 2007 during the Global Dairy Congress.
Slimming Ingredients Germany 2007 is organized by the International Society for Antioxidants in Nutrition and Health (ISANH), the French Society for Antioxidants (SFA), the Japanese Society for Antioxidants (JSA) and the European Nutraceutical Institute (ENI). The conference focuses on new insights, ingredients, innovations and technologies in the slimming field. A key criterion used by the jury in selecting the Most Innovative Ingredient was the strength of the supporting scientific evidence for the ingredient’s benefits and claims.
The Dairy Innovation Awards celebrate the best new innovations in a variety of dairy sectors. In the Best New Health Initiative category, the judges singled out new probiotic or other functional dairy products that have a distinct health message and which are having impact on the market. Uniquely, PinnoThin™ was the only ingredient to reach the finals, thanks to its particular suitability for application in a wide range of dairy products.
These recent accolades follow hard on the heels of two others that PinnoThin™ received at the end of last year, which included a prestigious Silver award at Health Ingredients Europe 2006, and a Frost & Sullivan Award for best product innovation.
