Lipid Nutrition BV received the prestigious Silver Award for its breakthrough appetite suppressant ingredient PinnoThin™ at the Health Ingredients Europe 2006 Congress & Exhibition. ‘Hi Europe’ is one of the world’s leading events for the health ingredient industry, focusing on new developments in a wide range of sub-fields, from nutraceuticals to cosmeceuticals and complex functional foodstuffs. This year’s edition, which took place 14-16 November in Frankfurt, Germany, featured an extensive seminar and exhibition program that drew almost 10,000 international industry professionals.
Silver Award
The Hi Awards for ingredient innovation are an integral part of Hi Europe, providing a high-level showcase of the best new health ingredients launched in the last two years by the food ingredients industry. Some 30 new ingredients in total were competing for this year’s awards, which were presented during the event. PinnoThin™, a 100% vegetable-based product, was honored the Silver Award for its all-natural ability to suppress appetite and aid slimming by promoting a feeling of fullness. Because of this, PinnoThin™ can play an important role in helping reduce obesity which is a growing source of a wide range of serious health problems, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes and kidney failure.
Frost & Sullivan Excellence in Technology Award 2005
Although this is the first international award that PinnoThin™ itself has won, it was one of our breakthrough products that helped garner Lipid Nutrition the 2005 Frost & Sullivan Excellence in Technology Award in the nutraceuticals and nutritional lipids category. The award is granted to the company that has pioneered the development and introduction of innovative technology into the market that is expected to contribute significantly to the industry. It also recognizes the overall technical excellence of a company and its commitment to technological innovation. We received the honor in recognition of our development of our novel, natural-origin lipid ingredients, including Clarinol™, Safflorin™, Betapol™, Marinol™ and PinnoThin™.
